And that’s a completely unbiased, objective assessment from someone with whom I just happen to share a surname. I’m sure the fact that we are brothers did not influence his evaluation in any way, right?

I love your coverage! Please don’t hesitate to share your opinion…would love this to be a mix of factual reporting on topics and columns that are your assessment of situations as they arise. I think it would’ve fun during the offseason to project lines and pairings as changes occur.

Thank you very much for sharing your thoughts, Tami. Your suggestions certainly merit serious consideration and I promise that they will receive it.

I love everything about your work Dave. I have thoroughly enjoyed all of your insights and comments. As far as I am concerned you don’t need to change anything. Your perspective on the current Penguins is always spot on and your writing style and humor remains to be the best. The only thing that I can think of that I would love is hearing more of your personal experiences from the past. I’d love to hear your thoughts on any hockey related topics that you might have to share. Looking forward to reading more of your work.

Thanks for the kind words and for your suggestion. As an old-school newspaper guy, I’ve always been more interested in telling a story than being part of one — I wince every time I’m compelled to use “I” or “me” in a story — but I can try to occasionally put together pieces based on things I’ve witnessed or experienced during my time watching/covering the Penguins and the NHL.

I know you covered the important historical moments in the book, but it would be nice to see some of the other stories, especially the offbeat ones.

Thanks for the suggestion; it’s an intriguing one. I wish I’d kept a written record of offbeat/unusual stuff I witnessed over the years, because I’m sure I’ve forgotten exponentially more nuggets of that sort than I remember. Perhaps I’ll start keeping a record when things come to mind and cobble a story together occasionally when there is enough material.
